Bill Ghiringhelli | John J. Schiavo, Jr. Bill Ghiringhelli is distinguished by having a specific focus on the automotive industry in addition to being among select three percent of all attorneys and CPAs that are dually certified. Bill has managed numerous dealership transactions, both on the buy and sell side. Bill began his career as a CPA dealing with large companies and high-income individuals. He soon moved on to a manager position at Leighton, Carter & Bonovich, a firm specializing in auto dealers and groups, where he was responsible for consulting in the areas of business, tax and accounting. Four years later, in 1987, Bill joined Fremont Ford, a dealership with annual sales of $130 million at its main location, as its CFO. He was promoted to general manager and ultimately became dealer principal for the last two years of his 12-year Fremont Ford tenure. Bill was involved in all areas of operations for the multi-franchise award-winning dealership, including buy/sells and high-level legal and business matters. While tending to Fremont Ford business during the day, Bill attended law school in the evening for four years, earning his degree in 1997. Shortly thereafter, he opened the Law Offices of William Ghiringhelli, focusing on many aspects of legal and accounting practices, primarily for automobile dealers. Bill’s legal and accounting background, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, leaves him uniquely qualified to provide counsel to dealership sellers and buyers. John Schiavo has established himself as a success in automotive sales, sales management and marketing over the course of his career, which spans more than 20 years. After a productive engagement in sales for one of Silicon Valley’s premier foreign automobile dealerships, he brought his intense focus on customer satisfaction to his position as president of Pacific Valley Motor Company in Stockton. During his seven-year tenure, John built a successful premium automobile franchise and was a driving force in the development of the Stockton Auto Center, the region’s first multiple dealership auto mall. Returning to the Bay Area in 1990, John served as general sales manager for East Bay BMW, the first factory-owned dealership in the U.S. In 1993, he assumed the position of president and CEO of Hytec Flow Systems, a high technology company serving the semiconductor manufacturing industry. When that company was sold, John returned to the automotive industry as director of sales for Epilogics Group, a licenser of automotive technologies including the mechanical diode and the Kuhl Wheel. John’s extensive and varied automotive experience has given him a 360-degree view of the automotive industry. This has resulted in his unique ability to successfully work with individuals interested in buying or selling dealerships, as he puts his expertise into play to ensure buy/sell transactions are structured correctly and appropriate for the parties involved. |
